Unless you are planning to wear a gorilla or rhino suit, put out of your mind any idea of running the marathon in a set of pristine running kit that you have saved for the big day.
Wear something that you have run in for at least one of your long runs and a few of your short ones, but most importantly, something that has been washed a few times.
Using and washing the kit will help soften fibres and reduce the chances of rubbing or chaffing on your skin, definitely an experience you want to avoid. Your running shoes should have also been broken in, and preferably have around 40-50 miles in them.
